There's a word that comes to mind when you step inside this home: solid. Not just in the way a century-old house literally holds itself together, but in the way it feels steady and serene.
The current owners found it that way. Fresh off a meticulous update, but rich with the kind of character that only a hundred years of history can give, it had breathing room in the form of wide open spaces, both inside and out. Accordingly, they spread out and settled in. And six months later, they got married here in a perfect three-day celebration at the tail end of summer.
This house, as it turns out, is a natural host. A very good one.
It's also a quiet one. Mornings here are all sunshine and stillness, and by evening, the back of the home offers plays its role. "This house has been so peaceful inside and out. Facing east to get some beautiful sunny mornings in the front room is a great way to start the day. The plum tree out front gets very full and provides a nice shady chill area on the north end of the porch, great for summertime mornings as well."
There are thoughtful touches throughout the home, which is minimalist in its decor and intentional in its palette. New gutters, a reverse osmosis water system, and a hundred years of good bones mean the next owners can move in and decompress, rather than getting to work. A detached cinderblock garage is cool in summer, easy to heat in winter, and complete with a big picture window, which makes for the kind of space that lends itself to whatever you need.
"Its perfect positioning, with mountain views out front and warm summer evenings outback with the sunset, will be hard to beat."
